Maritime Academy (MA) achieved a consecutive win in the Spoken Poetry competition during the 48th Foundation Anniversary of Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT) with a theme, “SJIT@48: A Vision, A Commitment, and A Challenge”.
Out of the eight participants, D/C Kylene Beniga grabbed the top spot of the competition which then followed by the Basic Education (BE) and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
Her piece entitled, “A Quest of the Lost Psyche” depicts hope, faith and self-love which totally matched the theme of the event.
With the potential of the piece and her sincere emotions, she fascinated the judges and the audience and managed to keep the title of the MA as the champion of the said competition.
The champion of the last year’s foundation day E/C Kiven Besana, who happened to be her trainer, was glad to hear that the MA retained the title.
“I am proud to pass my crown to Kylene since she performed a delighting performance,” he expressed.
