Maritime Academy Achieves Gold in Badminton during the 48th Foundation Day

Maritime Academy (MA) kept in track as it dominated the other college departments with 4-0 standing after defeating all opponents in the field of badminton in single match at SJIT main campus.

MA star Leo Cuico accurately summed up what’s on the line in titanic duel between the Great White Sharks (MA) and Orange Wild Cats (CEA) during 48th Foundation Anniversary of SJIT.

The two competing teams had an even score at the early start of the first set. Leo Cuico flexed a muscle which led the score to 21-18 and at the second set, the momentum of the game favored the Great White Shark giving them 2-0 standing in the championship game.

“To smash the ball directly to the spot where my opponent is not defending, and proper placing serve as my key in claiming victory,” Cuico said.

The Maritime Academy gained 6 golds in total and placed as 1st runner up in overall departments.
