Approaches to Learning

In Year 1, students select their skill strands and achievement levels from the online learning menu based on their interests and competencies. It is entirely interest based and differentiated in learning. This learning approach will encourage our  students to be self-directed and work on the affective skills. For example, students will learn to manage their own time and tasks effectively under the mentorship of their teachers.

They also learn to create a digital visual resume and a portfolio called i.PORT = My Portfolio).

The i.PORT crafts a narrative of learning, growth and achievement over time for our foundation students. It also empowers and authenticates the students' learning with projects, photos, competitions and other creative personal projects that they embark on.

Using Design Thinking, Year 2 students will embark on authentic design challenges that focus on United Nations sustainable development goals like Sustainable cities and communities and Climate Action.

They will get to apply the skill sets learned in Year 1 and apply them in the deliverables of the challenge such as creating a 3D visualisation of their ideas, prototyping as well as producing a video and a digital poster to explain their design process and solutions.
