Instrumental Music Lessons

Who can participate

The SJIIS Music Department invites students in year 1 and above to participate in our 'in house' Instrumental Music Programme. We offer Individual lessons on most instruments and voice. 

Lesson scheduling

Lessons for students in years 1 - 9 will normally take place during the school day on a rotational basis so that the learners do not miss the same class lesson every week.

Lessons for students in years 10 - 13 will be arranged before or after school, or during study periods.

An example lesson schedule is included below.

WOODWIND: Saxophone; Clarinet; Flute

BRASS: Trumpet; Trombone

STRINGS: Violin; Viola; Cello; Double Bass; Bass Guitar; Electric Guitar; Acoustic Guitar

PERCUSSION: Drum Kit ; Piano 

SINGING: Voice

Participation in Music CCA and Performances

Where possible, it is highly encouraged that all those participating in the programme will attend music ensembles offered as part of the CCA programme.  It is also hoped that most will be able to take part in at least one of the recitals/concerts which are scheduled during the year.
