Fall Semester 2024: Reflections on Fisher Outcomes
HNRS2500-05 - Live and Let Die
Diversity Equity and Inclusion: Fisher students will understand the sociocultural, historical, and political underpinnings of inequality and injustice, and they will acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them to work effectively across human difference in their personal and professional lives.
Students in this course had to explore the topics of local, regional, or global health. In doing so they needed to specifically research how disease can influence special populations. A number of diseases disproportionally affect minoritized populations. This in combination with historical racism and sexism in both society and healthcare it is important to consider specific populations when addressing a health concern. This was addressed in student projects both at the economic and political level.
