Ways to practise tricky words and sounds at home. Children can do the following:
Build the word using letter tiles or wooden letters.
Write the word, saying each sound as they write.
Break up the word into component sounds orally, draws sound boxes and then writes the letter/s for each sound in each sound box.
Use words in an oral sentence, followed by a written sentence. Then read the sentence out loud, parent/carer provides feedback about spelling.
Play SNAP/PAIRS/BINGO to provide extra exposure.
