What are Tags for?

yWriter allows you to add your own tags to scenes, locations, characters and items, but why would you need this feature?

First off, tags can be useful if you're writing a novel with a big cast of characters. E.g. you could tag some of your characters 'Montague' and the rest 'Capulet', then print off a list of one or the other. You could also tag the characters with 'pro' or 'anti' and print a different subset.

As for scenes, you could tag them with a code word for the subplot - e.g. Main, subplot1, subplot2. Then you can print off a scene list containing scenes from subplot2, allowing you to concentrate on that part of your novel.

You could also tag some scenes with 'rewrite', for example, although I'd use the scene completion ratings for that.
