One of the more immersing features of Deus Ex is the variety of items and interactive objects found in the game. Shifter adds some new features and "tricks" to many of these items.
1) Zyme: it's not just for junkies anymore: For the most part, I despise "useless" items, items where in no unscripted situation are they of any advantage whatsoever. Zyme struck me as such an item... so I fixed it. What used to put you in a "drunk" state now gives you a boost in skill, a boost in speed, doubles your reflex time (or rather, halves the game speed) and increases the damage you inflict. In short, Zyme is the choice performance enhancing drug of Deus Ex. Just be wary of the hangover.
2) "Charged" items have an off switch: How badly designed does a hazmat suit have to be so that you can't even take the thing off until it's used up? I am sure that in the future they still understand how an off button works, and I've updated the "charged" items (Ballistic Armor, Hazmat Suit, Rebreather, Tech Goggles, Thermoptic Camo) accordingly.
3) Careful where you throw that: In the real world, if you throw a wooden crate at some guy's head fast enough he will get knocked down. The same is now true within the world of Deus Ex. If you drop a steel box on a UNATCO Trooper from 5 stories you can expect them to take a nap for a little while.
