Mukanda ya J'ixi Angola

Nayara Vasconcelos - Team Leader - I am a senior Geography major with a GIST minor set to graduate May 2016. The reason I chose to work on a project for Angola, is because I am originally from Angola. There are many areas in Angola that are not mapped yet, and I saw this opportunity to start mapping. I wanted to start this project while I am still in school because that is something that I want to do in the long run for my career. I want to first get the necessary experience here in the U.S and then go back home and use my experience to improve my country and maybe other countries in Africa. We see now that there is a necessity for mapping areas that are not mapped yet to facilitate members of certain organizations to go from place to place.

Alexander Bogedain - I am a senior Undergraduate Geography student set to graduate December 2016, with the aspirations of continuing on to my MS and Ph.D. in Geography. I am an avid desert and open-source data lover, and as such, studies of desert-lands, specifically southern Utah, are my passion, as is increasing open-source data for the world's use. One day I hope to move to southeast Utah and fully utilize my passions and skills in protecting, planning, and managing our precious scenic, cultural, and natural resources in the area.

Chima Onyia - I am a junior majoring in Geology with a GIST minor at Texas Tech University. The reason I am taking this class is because I need it for a GIST elective. I graduated from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. I am very excited to get started in mapping with my group and learn more about OpenStreetMap.

Lauren Goff - I am a junior Geography major with a minor in GIS. I am from Cypress, Texas. I chose to take Mapping without borders because I thought it would be exciting and interesting to learn another mapping technique other than ArcGIS. I was also intrigued about creating data on OpenStreetMap that would become beneficial to other parts of the world.
