I moved to Tokyo University of Science on April 2023. I am working on the development of assistive and welfare robotics as based on robotic technology, such as android robots for communication support and assistive robotic suits for walking support, as well as on the use of IoT functions for robots for elderly care to sense daily activities. I have also been conducting research on the evaluation of assistive technologies, for example, by analyzing receipt data of long-term care insurance. It was found that the long-term use of welfare devices such as rollators has an impact on the maintenance of the physical abilities and life at home.

2023年4月より、東京理科大学に着任いたしました。ロボット技術を用いた生活支援や介護支援に関する研究をしています。具体的には、対話支援を行うアンドロイドロボットや歩行支援のためのアシストスーツ等の新しいシステムの開発、介護ロボットをIoT化することによる生活状況の把握などの研究に取り組んでいます。また介護ロボットの評価に関する研究も行っており、例えば介護保険レセプトデータを分析することにより、歩行器などの福祉機器の長期的な利用が高齢者の身体能力の維持や、在宅生活の維持に影響していることなども見出しています。
