ACE IN THE HOLE [1951] [Dual Format edition] Released on 28 April 2014.

Billy Wilder’s classic finds Kirk Douglas as a newspaper reporter who stumbles upon a potentially career-making story in Albuquerque, New Mexico (nearly sixty years later, the setting for Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad). When Tatum begins to influence the story’s outcome, a descent beings that finds more than one man caught between a rock and a hard place.

BOOMERANG! [1947] [Dual Format edition] Released on 19 May 2014. One of the early films by Method Actor’s director Elia Kazan (A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront), Boomerang! also marked one of the early American Hollywood entries into the Cannes Film Festival in 1947. Kazan’s impactful noir drama stars a cast of stalwarts of the ’40s and ’50s hard-boiled streak and his own oeuvre, including Dana Andrews, Lee J. Cobb, Jane Wyatt, Arthur Kennedy, and Karl Malden.

HAROLD AND MAUDE [1971] [Blu-ray edition] Released on 23 June 2014. The counter-culture classic about the relationship between a 20-year-old and an 80-year-old, taken to hilarious and wonderfully touching heights by director Hal Ashby.

ROMA (15) 1972 ITALY [Dual Format edition] Released on 17 February 2014 Returning to Rome, the city of his youth, to film a documentary, Federico Fellini finds himself stuck in a huge traffic jam. He recalls the city as it was in the 1920s, and as fantasy and reality proceed to merge, he observes an ecclesiastical fashion show (complete with nuns on roller skates) and discovers ancient murals in a Roman villa.

Directed by iconic director Samuel Fuller (The Big Red One, Shock Corridor, Pickup on South Street) and featuring Kristy McNichol, Burl Ives, Paul Winfield, and cameos from Dick Miller, Paul Bartel, Marshall Thompson and Samuel Fuller himself. One of the most controversial films of its era – released briefly in the UK at cinemas and on VHS in the 1980s and rarely seen since, White Dog is a tragic portrait of the evil done by that most corruptible of all animals: the human being! White Dog will be released in a Dual Format (Blu-ray & DVD) edition as part of Eureka! Entertainment’s award-winning The Masters of Cinema Series on 24 March 2014.
