The Cruise (Rejs) (Marek Piwowski, 1970) -Regarded as Polish cinema’s first ‘cult’ film, Piwowski’s absurdist comedy is a satire of life in the People’s Republic of Poland. Camouflage (Barwy ochronne) (Krzysztof Zanussi, 1976) – A milestone in Polish cinema which probes into the moral fabric of the society underlying Poland’s regime and Shivers (Dreszcze)
(Wojciech Marczewski, 1981)- A coming-of-age story set in a 1950s Stalinist youth camp, Marczewski’s film daringly explores themes of erotic and political fascinations.
