Wilson Gifted Education Network has a wonderful opportunity to offer gifted students (8th to 12th grade) a unique experience with the Reading Eagle. 10 lucky students will get to spend a day with the editor of Voices and her team.
If you love to write, can't wait to hear the scoop, have a curiosity about how the news is reported or are just interested in the subject of journalism, the " The Newspaper Experience" is for you.
Registration is limited to 10 students.
Date: Saturday, April 5
Time 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Place: Reading Eagle Company
345 Penn St. Reading PA
Activities:
10:30 a.m. Tour of newsroom and mock press conference
11:00 a.m. Create mock front page
11:30 a.m. Meet Eagle police reporter & learn about daytime cops beat
Noon - Sit in on Voices meeting, have pizza or brown bag lunch
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. - Observe photo shoots and tour Eagle building
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Students finish individualized front pages and depart with copies
Transportation on your own
