moving experience even though they speak no English & John's family
speak very little Japanese. They managed to find things in common & put
names, faces & voices as real connections to a distant past.
Ed & Adrienne Marmo Fagalde & Betty Sue & Alan spent 7+ weeks in
Europe this Spring. They visited 16 countries. Adrienne's favorite was
Italy. The big highlight for her was visiting Canelli, her father's birthplace. To
her surprise, Canelli abounds with lots of Marmos & she met many of
them. They showed Adrienne her father's home, school & church, but best
of all she saw the Marmo property & vineyard. The whole area is called
Marmo Hill. She met a 9 year old cousin named Adrienne Marmo. She also
met Roberto Marmo who is president of the Asti province. They treated us
like celebrities. Even tho Adrienne was suffering from laryngitis it didn't stop
her from trying to speak Italian. Ed & Adrienne plan to go back to Canelli &
spend more time there. Betty Sue's highlight was Normandy. She loved the
Northern Coast of France. It is so hard to believe that so many lost their
lives there. So much history surrounded by such beauty. Speaking of
beauty, Monaco was quite gorgeous. Of course all the fancy cars helped
the scenery.
Nancy Wynne & her husband spent several weeks in England, Wales,
Scotland & Ireland recently. They did all the touristy things in London, onto
Bath & Stonehenge. They were required to walk and /or drive through
disinfectant for the hoof & mouth disease problem but it didn't affect their
travels. In Wales they attended a medieval banquet with wonderful choral
music. The Welsh are great singers. Nancy found her surname of Wynne to
be a well known one. In Scotland they checked out St. Andrews, the

adventures. Before heading home they saw several Broadway shows.
