A Treasury of Meat Recipes No.2

The old recipe booklet reproduced here to preserve it, was from the Kurri Kurri Co-Operative Society (Weston was a sub branch) and possibly dates back to the 1950s or earlier. It was No.2 in a series and was given to this website's owner in 1962. The pages were already well-worn back then. There are some classic old recipes here such as Bubble & Squeak and Toad-in-the Hole, specialty meats such as brains, liver, tripe etc., and Sheep's Head broth shows that nothing was ever wasted by the housewife.  It's not all meat; there are handy tips for prepqration and using up leftovers and also recipes for Sauces, Pickles and Chutneys etc. It's a great insight into how our forebears dined in earlier decades. Perhaps you might enjoy a culinary adventure back in time by trying some of these recipes.  Bon appétit!
