West Laurel Recreation Council

UPCOMING EVENTS IN WEST LAUREL!

The West Laurel Recreation Council (WLRC) is a group of interested volunteers, offering various educational, social, and recreational programs to West Laurel citizens of all ages.  The WLRC is now a part of the West Laurel Civic Association!

WLRC meetings are scheduled for the 4th Monday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Community Building, except during the summer from June thru August. Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring ideas on programs and events you would like to see the Rec. Council work on! Furthermore, if you would like to teach a class or workshop, they would love to hear your ideas.  Call Kim Passmore at 301-725-3157 for more information.

In order to better serve the community, the WLRC is seeking additional Board Members to represent the needs of differing age groups. We want to hear about what you think are the needs for possible activities for all residents. We are seeking the following additions to our Board:

· Elementary School Representative · Middle School Representative

· High School Representative (can be youth or adult) · Working Adult Representative

· Seniors are fairly well-represented on the Board but additional voices with new ideas are always welcome.

The WLRC Board meets monthly on a Monday evening for about 1 hr, with business also conducted via email. If interested, please contact Rush Kester (<rwkester@aol.com>) or Melissa Daston (<mdaston@gmail.com>).
