Call for Papers

Everyone is welcome to submit a paper proposal on the main conference theme: “Empire, Migration, and Oceanic Biblical Interpretation.”

Alternatively, proposals can focus on:

• Offering alternative methods for biblical interpretation using Oceanic cultural resources.
• Charting ways of interpretation to foster biblical scholarship in Oceania and to meet the challenge(s) of the 21^st century.
• Tracing the history (reception, translation, and use) of the bible in the various islands of Oceania and its impact on Oceanic cultures and vice versa.

The deadline for submission of paper proposals is May 31, 2011. There is a limit of two proposals per participant. Please submit your proposal (title + 250-word abstract) by email to OBSAMail@gmail.com.
