History

On Saturday, March 24th 2012, the first ever Beyond HB 1079 conference was offered University of Washington's Seattle Campus. The day long event brought together students, their families, educators and counselors who wish to learn more about resources available to students eligible for H.B. 1079. Break out sessions (student track, parent track, teacher track, etc.) as well as mixed sessions were offered. Over 220 people were in attendance.

In November 2012, another conference for DREAMers was held at Heritage University in Toppenish, WA.

On March 30th, 2013 the 2nd Annual Beyond HB 1079 conference was held at the University of Washington's Bothell campus. The purpose was to provide students, counselors, teachers, parents and other community allies with a baseline knowledge of what H.B. 1079 is, what barriers students face and what resources are available to them.

On April 5th, 2014, the 3rd Annual Beyond HB 1079 Conference was organized at UW Tacoma. Nearly 400 people were served.
