傳說

賽夏族人以前不懂得編織與農耕，天上的雷神派出精於編織手藝的女兒，

下凡教導賽夏族人編織與農耕。雷女到了人間後，與賽夏族青年達印結為夫妻，

教導族人種植小米、苧麻，收成的小米可以做糧食、可釀製；而苧麻抽麻線，

可用來織布、縫衣衫。但是雷女有個禁忌，就是不能碰煮飯的鍋子，

有一天，夫家的老人家逼她煮飯，她不得已拿起鐵鍋子，

突然轟隆一聲，化為雷電，離開人間回到天上去。賽夏族人為了紀念她，

就把雷電圖案織在布匹上，也就是雷紋圖案的由來。
