Te Hokinga Mai o te Waingōngoro

It was a great day for Waimārama on Saturday 31 October 2015. It marked the return of the Waingōngoro stream to it's original path after more than 50 years. To see the waters flowing again was truly awesome! There was a big crowd of people to support this historic event including Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule and other dignitaries. The best part was watching our tamariki chasing the waters down the channel toward the marae.

He wai tapu nō tūainuku, nō tūairangi, tēnei te wai o Waingōngoro te whakahokia ake nei! Hāumi e, hui e, tāiki e!
