Our final deliverables include some very exciting applications.
The De'Barbari Explorer allows users to view our high-quality scan of this important map. It is now searchable and includes several layers that can be turned on and off. Users can also create an account in order to add their own layers. It is available at http://debarbari.veniceprojectcenter.org
Venice: the Evolution of a City is an interactive timeline tool that allows users to scroll through the history of Venice's geomorphology. There are two options: GIS evolution shows simple outlines of the islands while the full evolution also includes a portion of our large repository of maps. It is available at http://evolution.veniceprojectcenter.org
Hidden Venice is an application that allows users to view a glimpse of Venice's past from their mobile device. Points on the map provide information and images of demolished churches. When used from a mobile device, users can click "Take me back in time" and the application will access your mobile device's camera and overlay the image of the demolished church. This allows users to see what Venice may have looked like years ago. It is available on the web at http://hidden.veniceprojectcenter.org
