AFTER CARE: PERMANENT MAKEUP/ TATTOO REMOVAL/MICRO NEEDLING

The following may occur after your procedure:

- Discomfort/Swelling: discomfort is usually mild but you can take some counter pain medications to help you feel comfortable. If you know that you have a sensitive skin and prone to swell, please ask your doctor for advice or prescription to ease your pain.

- Bruising: bruising is rare, but if it does occur, it is mild and will resolve within a few days.

- Pigment Intensity: immediately following the procedure, the pigment will appear dark/vibrant. The color will fade within 7 to 10 days. After scabs fall off, the color will look lighter but be patient, the color will come back and settle into the final color.

- Color: effort will be made to achieve the exact color desired, but an exact match cannot be guaranteed due to different undertones in the skin and pigments being used.

- Pigment Irregularity: the pigment may heal inconsistently, with some areas healing lighter/darker than others. This is normal and cannot be anticipated. The touch-up procedure will correct this.

- Eyelash Loss: although uncommon, a few lashes may fall out with eyeliner procedure. They will grow back.

- Infection: is very rare, but can occur if the treated area is not kept clean and protected with the recommended antibiotic ointment for the first few days and healing cream after. Apply as often as every 3-5 hours for the first 3 days.

- Herpetic Breakout: this can occur with lip procedures if someone is prone to cold sores. An anti-viral must be taken four days prior to the procedure and for four days following the procedure for prevention. We suggest that you ask your doctor/pharmacist for the best brand that help with curing cold sores.

After Care For Permanent Cosmetics:

EYELINER/LIP TATTOO

If there is any swelling immediately after the procedure, an ice pack should be applied for no more than 15 minutes at a time.

You may experience the following for several days after the procedure:

* Light bruising near eyelid, brow area, puffy eyes.

* Do not rub skin when washing your face for at least 10 days

* Do not pick or scratch tattooed area.

* For after care on hair simulation procedures, do not wash the area, scrub, pick, or get any chemicals on the area until it is healed.

* Do not wear contacts after eyeliner procedure.

. Do not wear makeup on tattooed area until area has healed.

* Use sun screen and avoid harsh chemicals or Retin A, this may colour to fade or discolor.

* Do not put anything at all on tattooed area except antibiotic ointment, healing cream or emu oil. That includes lotions, tanning creams, makeup, Retin A, water. DO NOT USE ON EYELINER-USE ARTIFICIAL TEARS.

* The tattooed area will be dark for the first several days and will fade. Lips will fade about 50-60% after the first three days into a natural shade. While healing, the tattoo will look spotty.

* If cold sores are seen on the lip area, call your doctor for a prescription ASAP. Put nothing else on the lip area! You may use emu oil on cold sores but ask your doctor. (counter products such as Abreva works well for me)

* If your eyes are red from the eyeliner procedure you can use emergency eyewash that can be purchased at any drug store. Eyewash that contains boric acid works well.

* You should apply healing cream (ex. Aquaphor), products contain vitamin A & D on your lips every hour for the first three weeks. This will prevent dryness.

* If you experience an allergic reaction contact your doctor ASAP!

* No smoking immediately following the lip procedure. If smoking can be avoided, apply a heavy coating of aquaphore and cover your lips with your hand while smoking.

Avoid for 1 week:

· Soaps, facial cleansers, water on pigmented areas

· Washing pigmented area

· Chlorine pools

· Retin-A on pigmented areas

· Makeup on pigmented area for 5 days, including non-allergenic

· Hot, steamy, long showers

· Sun on pigmented areas

· Jacuzzi or saunas

· Terry towels on pigmented areas

· Shower with your back to the water to avoid water, shampoo and conditioner from getting into the pigmented areas. Have a sufficient amount of Shea Butter or Shea Oil on the pigmented area during showers.

Do not be alarmed by fading after the first application. The final color cannot be judged until at least 3 weeks after the touchup applications are completed. This is the reason follow-ups are required.

NOTE: Inform your doctor if you plan on having laser so that he can cover the tattooed area. Also collagen and permanent makeup do not mix! If you want collagen, get collagen first and permanent makeup after. You may have to get more touchups with collagen because of the lip distortion after collagen.

Micro Pigment Implantation, otherwise known as Permanent Cosmetics is a two or more step process. The results cannot be determined until after the touch up applications. We perform this service to the best of our ability, and to achieve the desired results, your cooperation is required in the following instructions.

NATURAL TATTOO REMOVAL

Saline Lightening and Tattoo Removal. Cosmetic Tattoo Removal is a natural product used for lightening or removing permanent makeup or small tattoos. It is a saline removal solution (similar to the salabrasion process that is used by physicians). The saline, or salt water technique, uses the scientific principles of osmosis and equalization. What to expect? The Hypertonic Saline Solution is tattooed into the dermis containing unwanted color (pigment); microscopic scar tissue containing the pigment in the dermis slightly rises for approximately 12 hours, the epidermis layer of the skin forms a scab and adheres to the pigment particles. Once the scab falls off either most or some of the pigment will leave the body. There is no way to predict the number of sessions needed due to the different depths the pigment is inserted and types of pigment.

After-Care Instructions

*After the scab falls off you can use any of the following items to speed up the healing process:

1) Vitamin E oil

2) Neosporin

3) Natural Healing Cream (at the salon)

KEEP THE TREATED AREA CLEAN AND DRY. Any moisture to the treated area may result in an infection, scarring or an undesirable result.

TIPS TO KEEP DRY:

  • If the tattoo is on your hand, latex or vinyl gloves may be worn. However, be sure to remove them immediately after you've used them, as moisture will quickly build up in them.
  • Keep Saran Wrap and plastic tape near your shower so
  • that you may securely cover the area while in the shower.
  • NOTHING ELSE IS ALLOWED ON THE TREATED AREA.
  • No lotions, ointments, makeup, etc. until completely healed and the scab has fallen off on its own. This may take 2 weeks or longer for this to occur.
  • KEEP THE AREA COVERED with a Telfa or "non-stick" gauze or dressing to help avoid any irritation from clothing or other objects rubbing against it.
  • DO NOT PICK AT THE SCAB or else you will prevent the saline solution from removing as much ink as possible...and may also result of scarring.

After the scab has fallen off, the skin beneath will appear pink for up

to one year or longer. This varies according to each individual's lymphatic system. You will notice continued lightening for several months following the removal.

What are the aftercare instructions? The first day you would need to apply antibiotic ointment. Directly after the procedure is complete disinfect with Isopropyl Alcohol, Customer should remain still for 10-15 minutes and let the blood coagulate and start the scab. Cover lightly with gauze and send home. Remove in thirty minutes and leave all covering off permanently. Keep dry for 24 hours to form scab, when washing of showering only wash gently with fingers and pat dry. Never soak in water and no creams of any kind or makeup. The scab is the tool to remove the pigment and should not be picked, let scab fall off naturally. After scab is gone and completely healed rub vitamin E into the skin once daily and do not repeat the procedure for minimum of four weeks.

MICRONEEDLING

Micro-Needling Post Procedure Immediately after your Micro-Needling procedure, do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation. Follow these simple steps: Day of procedure: No lotions, makeup or other topical products on your face before your procedure. After your procedure your medical provider may apply a lipopeptide booster, skin moisturizer, and sun screen. You may clean your face with a gentle cleanser before bed.

Day 1: On the next day, you may clean your face as usual and apply makeup, lotions and other topical products as usual. Stay away from exfoliants or glycolic acids that are present is cleaners as these can make your skin very dry after the procedure. Be sure to use an approved SPF30 or greater sunscreen! POST TREATMENT:

After the treatment, take precautions against sun exposure. Do not apply sunscreen for 12 hours after the Dermapen treatment due to the skin’s channels being open for a period of time and due to the toxic nature of some sunscreens on the market.

• Do not perform any vigorous exercise for at least 12 hours after treatment.

• Do not apply make-up for at least 12 hours after the treatment. We recommend Lira BB cream for use post procedure versus other foundations.

• Dermapen needling may trigger a cold sore response in patients and a prophylaxis medication should be recommended to those who are prone to breakouts.

• Wash the face thoroughly a few hours after treatment. Gently massage the face with tepid water, and remove all serum and other debris such as dried blood.

• For the first 1-3 days the skin will be very dry and feel tight.

• After 2-3 days patients can return to regular skin care products or as soon as it is comfortable to do so.

• Avoid alcohol based toners 10-14 days.

• Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 10 days

• Day 1: Erythema and red appearance and severity will depend upon how aggressive the treatment.

Days 2-7: Within two (2) days following your Micro-Needling procedure, you will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. If your medical professional used the roller around the eyes, you may have a little micro bruising that may exist for three or four days. This can easily be covered with makeup. Days later, your skin will start shedding. These are skin layers that would regularly shed a week later, but the Micro-Needling brings this skin to the surface sooner. During this temporary process, your skin will shed and be dry.

Days 7+: A week after the Micro-Needling procedure, most patients notice that their skin is smoother and more radiant. Results vary, but usually a course of 1-3 treatments (maximum of 5, depending on the condition being treated) is typically recommended. If you require MORE procedures than this, you may have an unrecognized underlying medical condition and should consult with your provider. Of course, results may vary from patient to patient. Keep in mind that the healthier your body is, the better will be the results you achieve from a Micro-Needling procedure. Your body’s function and overall health are reflected in your skin.

HOME PREPARATION:

Preparing the skin for this procedure will ensure optimum results. Healthy skin will respond better and results will last longer. Skin cells need nutrients for best function and a Dermapen recommended anti-aging regime should include:

• Oral Supplements (omega-3, glucosamine and multivitamins)

• Cleansers and Toners

• Topical Vitamin A (avoid high dose)

• Topical Vitamin C

• Topical Antioxidants

• Topical copper peptides

• Topical Growth Factors

• Sunscreen ( natural, no chemical recommended)
