Casey will give a talk based on his recent works, with the following title and abstract:
Title: Convergence of hydrodynamics in rapidly spinning strongly coupled plasma
Abstract: By making use of the implicit function theorem I will describe the radius of convergence of the linearized hydrodynamic expansion around a non-trivially rotating state. Making use of the AdS/CFT correspondence this problem reduces to the old problem of QNM (or poles of the retarded greens function in the dual field theory) and holographic operator mixing with an additional constraint requiring the mode to be a so called critical point. The results of this analysis provide further justification of the unreasonable effectiveness of hydrodynamics in the description of heavy ion collisions and the quark gluon plasma.
