This will vary for those who have sign-ups where writers can sign up in advance, such as a course-based assignment or some hourly shifts.
If I click the Writing Drop-In link in the same row as Bob's name, a popup box appears. I'll click "Check in" and (IMPORTANT) use the login credentials in Ms. Ball's handbook and on the screen below. I've blurred them here, but you'll see them bright and clear once a box like this appears:
Now you can check Mary in. Yes, another screen appears. Jackpot!
I'd get Mary's UR ID and other info. Note that she's in a writer's group with her partners, you'll be able to register them, too.
In Mary's Case, she wants help with my Eng 383. You can put in the title of the course or subject and number that Mary gives you.
Don't fret if the class doesn't show (we are still adding SPCS classes). In those cases, select "no" under the option for "related to a course?"
When done, click the "Submit" button. Right now, Slate will only give you the form again. You need to go back to your "View My schedule" and look what we see!
You are DONE. Slate now has them recorded as visiting us.
