~My First Marathon~

Hyderabad City

"Dreams are food for our soul. Realizing dreams are always a difficult task and takes a lot of time and energy. But taking up the challenge is always worthy. Efforts made to be realized make our life better, souls alive, and we keep moving forward."

I survived my first 42.2 Km (26.2 miles) run@Hyderabad City Marathon on Aug 24, 2014. My bones and muscles are still aching, but a feeling of accomplishment ease out my pains slowly.

Taking account of my physical fitness, training, preparation and logistics, it was an impossible task to travel to another far away city, participate and run a race. However, with the GUIDANCE of my TEACHER, SUPPORTS and CHEERS from FRIENDS, I could go, participate, complete THE FIRST MARATHON in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Marathon is the toughest city marathon in India. The race course was full of uphills and downhills. I ran at times when my physical fitness was in a bad condition. Before the race, I could not run more than 21 km and thus I was not ready for the 42.2 km run. Then, I wrote to the event organizers' whether I could switch my Marathon registration to half-Marathon.....they replied 'NO'.

At that difficult moment, on the second thought, I remembered that "a person have the capability to run twice the distance the person used to run normally on challenging situations if he or she has the WILL". So I convinced myself that I can do it and I should make it. Still there were doubts~I ran with flashes of thoughts... Will I be able to complete the race or not? What if my back pain get severed? Such thoughts continued TILL the pains of my bones and muscles suppressed them. Those pains pushed me to run through THE FINISHING LINE.

It was a long cherish dream that just happened in real.

Dwarka, Delhi

Running 42 km can be really a dangerous thing. I realized it recently.

I experienced a blackout at metro station while going back to home after finishing a run. Maybe because I didn't practice for sometime of almost a week before the run.

Can we succeed anything if practice enough?

Lets see....Mumbai Marathon, 2017
