Technology transfer

Research Director of two Ryerson University companies (Entropy Lab Inc. and of BeTOP Inc.) incorporated as a part of the Science Discovery Zone initiative for the commercialization of research output.

BeTOP is a Ryerson University  start-up company incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (n. 1067211-4) and registered with an Ontario Corporations Number (n. 003173869), 

BeTOP Inc. is working towards the development and optimization of building systems for high-performance buildings. BeTOP Inc. serves to facilitate partnerships and collaborations of private industrial partners with the Building Science Laboratory of Ryerson University. Within BeTOP Inc., Dr. Berardi serves as Research Director and Scientific Advisor (http://betopinc.com/about/)


Entropy Lab is a Ryerson University start-up company incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (n. 10325163) and registered with an Ontario Corporations Number (n.703759696), https://www.canadabiz.net/company/10325163/ https://www.entropylabs.ca/.

Within BeTOP Inc., Dr. Berardi serves as Research Director, https://www.entropylabs.ca/about/#umberto-berardi. Entropy Labs is working to explore how aerogel can become a more common, affordable material. “Entropy Labs is one of many success stories at the science discovery zone, proving the impact that evidence-based design thinking can have on two motivated students with one really big idea.”
