Research Group
We have three open positions and are always interested in recruiting passionate students. If you are interested in a M.A.Sc. or Ph.D. position in our Research Group (BeTOP), please email uberardi@torontomu.ca with the subject line “BeTOP application”. Your email should include a cover letter outlining why you are interested in the Lab’s research and your relevant experience, and your CV.
We are a Group and the proved capacity of research training success in our group is exemplified by the carriers of previous students. Among these, it is worthy to mention:
Dr. Nakisa Alborz (-fard) (Ph.D. supervision by Dr. Berardi from 2012 to 2014) is now Professor and Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering at the Wentworth Institute of Technology (MA, USA), https://wit.edu/directory/nakisa-alborz
Dr. Zahra Jandaghian (Post-doc in Berardi's group at Ryerson from 2018 to 2020) is now Research at the National Research Council of Canada
Dr. Amirhosein Ghaffarianhoseini (Post-doc in Berardi's group from 2015 to 2016) is an Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering at the Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), https://www.aut.ac.nz/profiles?id=em10863&asset=263583
Dr. Yibo Chen (Ph.D co-supervision by Dr. Berardi) is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at the Zhengzhou University (China)
Dr. Klodian Gradeci (Dr. Berardi was his Supervisor during the research visiting from 2016 to 2017) is a Research Scientist at the SINTEF Building and Infrastructure in Trondheim (Norway), https://www.sintef.no/en/all-employees/employee/?empid=7495
Mr. Taoning Wang (graduated at WPI supervised by Dr. Berardi from 2013 to 2014) is Senior Scientific Engineering Associate at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (CA, USA), https://eta.lbl.gov/people/taoning-wang
Previous mentioned students authored several journal and conference papers, and promoted the growth of the entire group of research and the reciprocal enrichment. We welcome open mind, dynamic, entrepreneurial, and dedicated people.
