Protocol of the Field Activity
Goal
Identification and saving (by each working group) of examples of art reproductions for the defense/promotion of the Human Rights (HR) of a vulnerable group (to be decided in the class). These can include reproductions of any work of art or social marketing with art infusion, that critically exposes or alerts to HR violations, that states HR, or that show or appeals to the defense or promotion of HR.
Procedure
Each working group will identify and save, from the Internet, examples (one by each member of the group) of such reproductions (trying to select works from different art domains: painting, sculpture, installation, music, cinema, photography, etc.). The type of examples to select can be seen here, on the site Art for Human Rights – the examples of this site should not be repeated for this field activity.
Each group will pick one of the selected examples and, based on what was learned in the course, will analyze (max.: 1 ppt slide) how its features activate the psychological processes involved in art appreciation (like emotions, attention, sensorial processing, perception, memory, and comprehension).
Until 20 of December, each group will deliver a PowerPoint file to amduarte@psicologia.ulisboa.pt with the saved examples (1st slide: names of the group’s elements; following slides: selected examples identified with title, author, date of creation, and URL source – in case one of the three first elements is unknown it should be stated “unknown”; last slide: analysis of the selected example).
From the examples delivered by each group a selection will be made, to exhibit in this semester’s online exhibition (last semester’s exhibition can be accessed here) and on the permanent site Art for Human Rights.
