The Search Committee wants to update you on the progress we have made recently. A contract between the Geneva UCC, Exeter UCC and Pastor Rasmussen was signed. The current contract will run from October 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026. The contract will be re-evaluated at that time.
Pastor Rasmussen will be working 9 hours a week, and will be calling on the shut-ins, people who need his counseling or guidance, or just want to sit down and visit.
Pastor Rasmussen will be leading the Worship Services 3 or 4 Sunday’s a month, depending on how many Sundays are in the month. Pastor plans to attend the committee meetings to observe and give guidance if requested.
The conference has granted Pastor Rasmussen authority to perform Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, and any other duties that may arise. While still working at Glenwood, Pastor will only be able to perform Weddings and Funerals on
the weekends.
Because this is a temporary situation, at this time we ask for your patience and God’s guidance.
Blessings to you all in God’s work.
Jim Steider, Chairman of the Search Committee

Volunteers are always needed.
The first thing we would like to share with you is that we received a thank you letter in the mail this month. As some of you may remember, in May, our committee decided to make a donation to the United Church of Christ California Wildfires 2025 fund. This fund helped the UCC congregations who lost their church buildings during the January wildfires in California. This month, we received a grateful thank you letter from the United Church of Christ. I is always great to hear when help is appreciated!
We would like to thank everyone for their special offering contributions for the Neighbors in Need Offering on October 5th. The next special offering is the Christmas Fund, in late December.
This month, we made a contribution to the Society of St. Andrew (SoSA), a Christian nonprofit organization that focuses on hunger relief in the United States. The most well-known part of SoSA is the Gleaning Network - where volunteers are organized to gather crops left behind at harvest, and the food is donated to local food pantries and shelters. The organization has roughly 30,000 volunteers per year, and last year distributed over 23 million pounds of produce.
Locally, we approved a contribution to Fillmore County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for a need that was identified. We also approved as a committee the purchase of some copies of The Action Bible to distribute. The Action Bible takes over 230 Bible stories and pairs it with illustrations in a comic book style. The book is recommended for ages 8-12, and we have found that many kids see it as approachable and fun to read. If you would like a copy to distribute, please let me or a committee member know..
We would like to thank everyone for continuing to make us aware of any opportunities to help those in need and to help bring people to Christ.
Best Regards,
Daniel Andrews
