I started my PhD project “Defining functional specificity of stress responses” in 2011. By combining the genetic amenability of fruit fly and power of Systems Biology, the project aims to understand the precise roles of stress factors that sense and respond to different stressors in epithelial tissue. This work is highly relevant to areas of Biomedical Sciences and Insecticide development. The project is funded by University of Glasgow under the “Kelvin Smith Scholarship” scheme.

I have a Bachelors degree in Biotechnology from India and a M.Res. in Biomedical Science from University of Glasgow. My previous projects include, “Study of exogenous calcium in salt stressed Sugar cane”, “Peroxisomal Calcium Signalling in oxidative stress response in Drosophila melanogaster”, and “Zinc finger nucleases”.
