Here's what we've been doing lately !

Service to the Communitiy - Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food is the largest food collection event in the nation. Troop 295 did our part going door-to-door in our community collecting non-perishable food items for the less fortunate. The Scouts hard work was rewared with a record collection as 2,700 items of food were collected and given to the Plano Food Pantry.

Pioneering Campout- Dinosaur Valley

The theme for January was Pioneering and the scouts spent the meetings learning, teaching and practicing their knots and lashings - clove hitch anyone ?? The monthly campout was at Dinosaur Valley State Park and the Troop got to put the skills they had learnt to a practical use. They built a flagpole, an awesome catapult and then a floating chair. The afternoon was spent hiking around the park and exploring the dinosaur tracks.

Northern Tier

Our old scouts are back in Texas after completing a 75 mile canoeing trip though the boundary waters of Canada. The trip was for 7 days and 6 nights and it was a great adventure.

As well as testing yourself physically and mentally these high adventure trips are a great opportunity to make use of all of your scout skills.
