Tremane GAA Club AGM 2013
The Tremane GAA Club AGM was recently held at the clubrooms on Saturday 18th of January 2014. The Chairman Joe Coyne thanked everybody for their attendance at the meeting. He thanked all underage mentors involved with underage teams and the senior team management for all their work and commitment to hurling during the year. The chairman thanked all that sponsored the club during the year. He thanked everyone that helped in the maintenance of pitch and club facilities during the year and also to anyone that helped the club during the past year.
The secretary Bernard Haughey welcomed everyone to the meeting and gave a comprehensive report on the club’s activities for 2013. He thanked all the selectors involved with all the underage teams and to everyone that provided transport to matches. He gave a report on the U21, Junior and the senior teams activities for 2013. He thanked the senior team for the effort and commitment given for getting to championship semi-final and hopefully the club can go one step further this year. He thanked the senior team management of Brian McGarry, Jack Kilroy & Matt Keane for their efforts. He also thanked first-aid Paula Daly and match day physiotherapists for their assistance with the senior team during the year. Thanks to all the people that helped out in any way on match days.
The secretary thanked all club players that represented the county hurling senior and underage teams during the year. He congratulated the county U-21 hurling team on winning the Connaught B Hurling title. He also congratulated Peter Kellehan on winning the Junior Footballer of the year in the county.
The chairman of the Athleague\Tremane underage hurling committee Peter Tiernan gave a review the underage team’s activities during 2013 to the meeting.
The treasurer Sean Melia gave a comprehensive report on the club finances and thanked all sponsorship received during the year, and to the sponsors of the Annual Club Draw. He thanked all committees involved in the organisation of the Annual Club Draw fundraiser and the bonus ball draw and to everyone that supported our fundraisers during the year. He also thanked Mickey McConn, the Daly’s and everyone involved in running the weekly Tremane 25 card drive.
At the meeting, awards were presented by Paddy Beirne to: Clubman of the year – Darren Daly. Club Player of the year – Kevin Kellehan.
The club expressed its sympathy to the Beirne family, Mowdow, Athleague; the Gaffey family, Knockmaine; the Flaherty family, Athleague; the Mullen family, Firhouse, Dublin; the Hanley family, Kilrooskey on their bereavements during the year.
