TRB Annual Meeting
Business meeting held
- Over 46 attendees
- 3 speakers presented: John Renne, University of New Orleans; Russell Henk, Texas Transportation Institute - San Antonio; Brian Wolshon, Louisiana State University
- Call for Papers issued jointly with the TRB Committee on Critical Transportation Infrastructure Protection
- The Subcommittee received approximately 35 papers either unsolicited or in response to a joint call for papers. Primary review responsibility for 17 of the submissions.
- Two podium paper sessions were developed
· Session 227 – “Evacuation Transportation Planning and Operation,” featured five papers and was co-Sponsored by the Transportation Safety Management Committee and the Emergency Evacuation Subcommittee.
· Session 278 – “Emergency Transportation and Relief Supply Distribution,” included six papers and was co-Sponsored by the Transportation Safety Management Committee, the Emergency Evacuation Subcommittee, and the Critical Transportation Infrastructure Protection Committee.
- Approximately 5 of the 17 papers assigned directly to the Subcomittee were recommended for publication.
- In response to another joint call, an undetermined number of papers on topics related to evacuation were assigned directly to the Committee on Transportation Network Modeling. Of these, nine papers related to evacuation topics were presented in sessions (Sessions 406, 635, and 711). Accidentally or because ANB10(4) is not a committee and the on-line system would not permit it, ANB10(4) was not officially listed as a co-sponsor.
- Co-sponsored session with Subcommittee AND20(3) Advanced Traveler Information Systems.
