I bought this from a closed museum near Lebanon, OH. Don Gingerich's Car World.
Got it cleaned up and running, Still needs some transmission work.
Picture below is from the recent 2013 Dayton Carillon Concours D'Elegance.
We took the Hupmobile to our local 2017 Dayton Carillon Concours after a repaint to an original red/black color scheme. After removing the white paint, we found a lot of damage on the fenders. A lot of rust holes, with lead and bond slopped on. My friend Mark Kennison remade the rear fender for me. Once again a lot of work went into the car but finally it was ready for the show.
We all went to Preview Party the night before and had a good time. Our group included myself, Amy, Andy, Bub, Jeanne, Dave, Stephanie, Adam and his wife. I think all had a good time.
The next day was the show. Orville and Wilber Wright were there also. How cool?!!
We took the Hupmobile and the 1932 Pierce Arrow Club Broughm (Cars of Orville Wright Class )to the show. The antique class had an unusual high number of cars (15) in the class with some very high class rare vehicles. After a long day, we were surprised by an “Award of Excellence” for the Hupmobile.
One Judge from the Lexington Keeneland Concours invited us to the 2018 show next year. Here we go again!!
