I went into the pumpkin patch and rolled the biggest one on it's side. Yep, my tunnel and spoon were still there. I went in, grabbed my spoon and crawled to the dirt wall I had packed in a couple of days ago. I wanted to see if the jack-o-lanterns were still there, after all they had orders. I quietly dug through the wall and army crawled so that I was under the bed again. I peeked out curious of how the jack-o-lanterns got around.Immeidiatly, I got my answer. They had spider legs that folded inside the pumpkin shell and could extend out when needed. I didn't know to stop them, but I didn't want to go back outside. It would be cold and I would just get more muddy. I rolled out on the oppisite side that they were on and quietly snuck into the closet while they weren't looking. Then I thought about what I saw on the news last night. The interview with the cheif police man had been shocking. He said," Someone really stretched the truth about the Tjaden "mansion". All it was, was a really dusty, black, 8 person tent with rotton jack-o-lanterns and fake spiders and bats.", I wonderd how he didn't see the mansion. It was so big! Plus, the cheif wouldn't lie. I leaned against the wall to ponder my thoughts. I instantly I jerked back. It was wet, and soft! It was dirt! I can dig my way out! I dug until I was back in the tunnel. I ran all the way to the main entrance where I had once stood with Emily, Katie, and Barbra. I sighed. Then I heard a soft wimpering coming from the kitchen. I wen't in and shined my flashlite around. There sitting in the corner, was a 10 year old boy. "Wait." I said. " Your supposed to be dead." He looked at me hopfully. "You, you can help me. Your'e the one who the monsters talk about, aren't you.", he asked. "What do you mean?", I demanded. " The girl who escaped. Your'e the first one ever to come in and get back out. If you hang out here a while you find out alot of stuff. People going crazy, asking the monsters to them into one.", he explained. " Wow, so my friends could be monsters right now.", I said. "Come on, are you hurt or can you walk?", I asked him. " I can walk, but I won't be much help of finding your friends. I'm usless really.", he said glumly. We walked up the stairs around the corner and into a bedroom. I stopped in my tracks. There sitting in the bed was a pale, tall, and thin girl with long black hair. He ran up to her. " This is Liza, and I am Lance. Wer'e twins.", he explained. They actullay looked alot alike. " Hi, what's your name?", Liza asked. "My name is Halle.", I told her. We walked into the hall and just kind of roamed around until I heard Emiy muttering"Ah can't me now pumpkin face now can ya. Ha. It won't be that easy to take me down ya little pumpkin. Ha, ha, ha. Whoops. Ya missed never gonna catch me little guy no no. Just remember that.", followed her misgevious laugh. "Shh, that's Emily.", I told them. We walked into the room and Emily was hopping around like a monkey insulting the pumpkin spider that was chasing her. I shined my flashlite in the pumpkins face and it rotted and singed. "Who goes there!", she yelled. "Oh Halle, thank goodness. Wait who are they?!", she demanded craziliy. "Liza and Lance, they came here one night and never got out.", I explained to her. " Oh, well then. She was my friend first.", she fiercly wispered to them. Then she took off skipping down the hall. I ran up to her. "Emily we need to focus. Ok.", I told her."Can we go to the candy shop first?", she asked. "Oh no, this is not good.", Liza said in a thick russion acent."The zappers got to her.", moand Lance. "I demand we go to the candy shop!", screamed Emily. "What's a zapper?", the words stumbled out of my mouth. "A zapper is a phantom that can effect humans by clouding there memories by putting theirs from their mortal days into her mind.", explained Liza. We told her who she was, what she was good at, what she was bad at, what she liked to do, and all of her favorite things to refresh her memory. "Oh.", said Emily." Can we still go to the candy shop?", she asked little girlish. I gave a heavey sigh. "Yes, we can go to the candy shop.", I said. I led her through the halls and into a random room. " You just have to a B on the quiz to test your memory. Ok.", I told her sweetly. " Ok.", she said in a loud, low voice. I was buying time. Pulled out a pen and note pad from my pocket. I wrote "Closed." on it. I went to the room across the hall, took out my gum, and the stuck sign to the door. " Ok Emily, let's go.", I said. "Yay!", Emily yelled jumping up from the bed. I led to the room with the sighn. " Oh well, it's closed. We'll have to come back later.", I said. "Ok.", she said giggley. We walked down the halls keeping an eye out for any movment. " Look over there.", Liza said with an acent thicker then usual. Then she muttered somthing in russin. There was a sizzling sound in the corner. " She knows some spells from watching the witches.", Lance explained. " Emily. Do you know what happened to Katie and Barbra?', I asked her. "Well, a banchee took Barbra, a spider pumpkin grabbed Katie, and a werewolf with a vampire grabbed me. Otherewise I no clue what your'e talking about.", she said. I turned to Liza and Lance. "Do you know where the banchees would be?", I asked them. "The cupola secret room.", Liza answered. "Which is, where?", I asked her expectingly. "In the cupola, behind the dresser, and through the trap door.", she said quickly. "We walked into the room across the hall from the cupola. It was 8:56. "In 4 minutes all the banchees will leave for the woods. Looking for people's ears to punture and then give the blood to the vampires. You go in and hope that they won't see you. If they scream, scream back. That way, they'll grow weaker. When you find youre friend come back here as soon as you get out.", she said strictly. I went into the room with Lance. Once we got to the layer we saw Barbra in the corner right away. I grabbed by the arm and pulled her to the door. " I'll explain later.", I said. We barley made it in time. It was 9:59 when we got out and banchees came back at 10:00. I explained every thing to Barbra and then we went back to the room across from the "candy shop", acording to Liza it was safe. "The vampires will be looking for you three our blood is sour, they already tried our brother's. So be carefull and keep that flashlite with you. The vampires and warewolfs don't like the light, the zappers will disingrate, the jackolanterns will rot, and ghosts are on our side.", she said. We all walked down to the main entrance. As I was standing there I felt a need to find Katie and all them out of the house. All of the sudden Liza started another spell. "None of the monsters, none of the ghouls, well inside this bubble can not take our souls.", Lance translated. Then we were inside a purple bubble. A wolf jumped up towards us but stopped when it saw the bubble. It barley missed the bubble. "Emily what did you say took Katie?", I asked. "The spider pumpkins. Oh like those!", she said ponting at 5 or 6 pumpkins carrying Katie up the stairs. We slowly and quietly followed them. They took her to the cupola secret room. I looked closer and saw thet she was in a glass coffin. Liza was muttereing. "Shoot it didn't work. I still have to do spells in russion.", she wispered. Then she spoke in russion and we all turned invisble. Then she put a protection bubble on Katie. "Let's go get Katie.", she said in a determined voice. We walked over to the coffin trying to find a safe way to get Katie out of the coffin. All of the sudden the banchees swarmed around us. "Banchees can see through the invisible spell but they can't harm us because of the bubbles.", Lance said. "I have a plan. Who besides me likes to be loud?", I asked. Lance said "Count me in.". " OK. Me and you will scream to weaken the banchees.", I gave Barbra the flashlite. "You'll shine this at the pumpkins and they'll die. Liza you'll use the other flashlite and Emily you scream.", I said. "Like this?", she screamed at the top her lungs. "Yes exactly like that I said.", the banchees covered their ears in pain. "Scream!", Lance yelled. We all screamed and the banchees got tiny. Then they just disappeared. Over half of the pumpkins were rotted and singed. "Give me a flashlite!", I yelled. Liza tossed me hers. "We've got more company!", Lance yelled." I know!", I yelled back. I started shining it in the vampire's and warewolf's faces. They saw the light and scattered. We grabbed the coffin and carried it to the safe room. We took Katie out. "She has major blood loss.", Liza said exsausted. Barbra took a pillow case from the bed and wrapped around tightly above the wound. We all sat in silece. 45 minutes went by with all of us just watching Katie. Finally Liza spoke up. "I don't think she's coming back.". My eyes teared up. "She has to.", I said quietly. Even though I knew in my heart that she was right. We all sat in silece again. "The ghosts told me that I am a good witch.", Liza broke the silence. "When I was in the layer, the banchees made my scream alot more powerful.", Barbra joined in. "Then all of the sudden a warewolf ran in and bit Lance. He turned into a wolf and then back into a human. We all made a run for the door and everyone made it except for Liza. Then she came out yelling spells in russion. "Go!", she yelled. We all ran. I thought I was the only normal one of the group until I felt fangs spourt up in my mouth. "None of us are normal.", I said with my back to them. I turned around and hissed at them. They screamed. I had them cornered. Then all the sudden I opened my eyes and I was tangled in my sheets. I looked at my alarm clock. 1:00 am. It was just a dream....... so why would I be in the Tjaden mansion! I thought.
