Update 5/19/20 - Virtual Board Meetings
Until further notice, the Board is conducting meetings virtually using an online meeting platform (Zoom or Google Meet). If you wish to bring an issue to one of these virtual meetings, please contact the Board or Sarah Helander at TWC to get the meeting details.
No Open-Flame Outdoor Grills
Reminder - Gas and charcoal grills, chimineas, fire pits, or any other open-flame device are not permitted on our decks and patios. This is from Section 308.3.1 of the Fairfax County Fire Prevention Code and applies to all condominiums, not just our Association (see letter from Fire Marshall attached at the bottom of this page for details). Our insurance company watches carefully, so if we don't enforce this law, we could lose our insurance. Both unit owners and the Association could also be fined by the Fire Marshall. Electric grills are permitted, and there's a public park three blocks away with a grill and picnic area (300 Glyndon Street NE, on the other side of Maple Ave).
If you have renters, you are responsible for informing them in writing of the prohibition against grills. Giving them a full copy of the Rules and Regulations is a good way to do that, since it includes the rules about grills along with everything else. See the Rules and Regulations page of this website for a PDF copy you can email them.
Satellite Dishes
We have a new roof with a 30-year warranty. Please help us protect that by not installing satellite dishes or antennae or making any other punctures in the new roof because that voids the warranty. Satellites may be installed only with permission from management and only on chimneys or other surfaces that do not touch the roof itself. As stated in the rules and regulations, anyone violating this and causing damage to the roof will be liable for the full cost of replacing the roof!
Send in a Copy of Your Lease
If you are an investor-owner with a tenant living in your unit, you are required by the bylaws to send a copy of your lease to the management office. Send it via mail, fax, or email to TWC. We want to be sure that we know who is living on the property and have emergency contact information for both the unit owners and the tenants in case we need to address repair or other emergency issues.
