Tap on the box icon on the top right hand of the map window. It will automatically open the map up in Google Maps if you have Wifi on your computer or Mobile data available from your phone signal.. Tedious note! you need to use a Google browser for this to work at its best.
Selecting the location icons will give the name of the walk in the area of interest. Zoom in to the walk you are interested in. Selecting the route displayed reveals the statistics for the route when it was walked. From that you can get an idea of speed, distance in km etc. If you have GPS and location service enabled on an Android phone you can follow the walk exactly as originally walked. Google maps can be set up to show relief shading and contours so you will get an idea of the terrain. You can also see cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs etc.
iPhones will display the map and route but not your actual location on a Google map (see note).
Note: iPhones and iPads show a location dot on Apple maps so you could cross-check with the Google map to check where you actually are. Once you are on the route and facing in the right direction the terrain and paths should give you an idea of how to walk the route.
