Langkawi

We headed to Langkawi for the week with Ken and Geraint and it was .... interesting. First of all, most of the accommodation in Langkawi is either 5 star (out of our budget) or very budget, backpacker places. I read some reviews on Trip Advisor and finally chose a budget place. When we arrived I realized that perhaps some of the reviews on TA were overinflated as I was bitten by about 10 mosquitos within five minutes, and the room had seen many better days. Luckily it was near the beach so we escaped there. We took a day trip to an island and saw some monkeys, swam and just generally relaxed by the sea. After this trip I realize I have to read the reviews on Trip Advisor very carefully - it may just be the hotel writing them!
