I came to Beijing for a PYP conference and ended up staying a couple of extra days and doing some sightseeing. I hit all the major sights in the limited time I had - and fell in love with the city.
I visited the Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, and the famous
Wangfujing shopping street, where I found the local delicacies to be very tasty, to say the least! I also went up to the
Great Wall at Mutianyu, which was a lifelong dream of mine. I also ate the most delicious Peking Duck I've ever had. It melted in my mouth - at Hua's Restaurant. I learned about Bian Lian, an ancient art of Chinese mask changing. The performers wear very bright costumes and move around to very quick and dramatic music. They also change their masks so quickly you can't really tell who is under the mask.
