Creative (30 points)

Write a short story from the point of view of Margaret Tudor, caught between her native country and her adopted home. How do you think she would have reacted to this fierce battle, her widowhood, and the way her brother treated her (and her adopted country) afterwards?

Art (30 points)

When Mary wanted to calm her brother after her impulsive second marriage, she gave him the Mirror of Naples, said to be worth 60,000 crowns, or about £10,500 -- an enormous sum of money then, and the equivalent of millions of U.S. dollars today. Henry VIII probably had the Mirror itself, which was a huge diamond, recut and put into other pieces of jewelry, but before this the Mirror was part of another piece of jewelry and no one is quite sure what it looked like. Draw or create your own representation of the Mirror in its original setting. Is it a necklace, a brooch, or some other type of jewelry entirely? What other marvelous stones are with it?
