Honyman Munro's baptism is recorded in the parish of Farr registers dated 29th April 1806, son of Alexr Munro and Barbara Mckay in Armadale. However, later in life he went by the name of William Munro. Despite his name being spelt without an "e" on the parish baptism record (shown below) it is more than likely that he was named after William Honeyman, Lord Armadale who was at that time the owner of the Strathy Estate which included the village of Armadale and was then within the parish of Farr. William Honeyman, Lord Armadale had bought the Strathy Estate from his maternal grandfather John Mackay of Strathy in 1790. (The Strathy Estate later became its own parish separate from Farr in 1833).
Honyman Munro is surely one of the six males recorded as living in the house-hold of Alex Munro on the 1811 census in Armadale. The parish of Farr census of 1811 only recorded the name of the head of house hold, number of males, number of females and how many people were employed in agriculture or trade. The census is available to view in the Highland Archive Centre, Inverness, Scotland.
One possibility is that as Honeyman Munro was named after William Honeyman, Lord Armadale he could possibly be the William Honeyman Munroe who is found recorded on the 19 June 1833 in the parish of Saint Peter, Liverpool, England at the baptism of a son also named William Honeyman Munroe.
Update: A petition from Honeyman Munro's mother, Barbara Mackay, dated 18th August 1835, to the Duchess-Countess of Sutherland, as found in the Sutherland Estate Papers in National Library of Scotland (REF:DEP.313.2420), states that one of her sons had died in Liverpool.
In Liverpool, William Honeyman Munro's and his wife Jane's two children were, as per the parish registers:
Note: There is a parish marriage record for William Munro a bachelor and mariner to Jane Williams a spinster in the parish of St Nicholas, Liverpool dated 17 June 1831.
Note: There are two likely possible parish baptism records for Jane Williams, both of whom were daughters of a Griffith Williams who she could have named her eldest son after:
Parish baptism record of 1831 for Griffith Williams Munro, his father William is recorded as "shipwright" by trade which matches that of (William) Honyman Munro's father, Alexander Munro of Armadale.
