Palisade Glacier

The Palisade Glacier is a 14.3 mile round trip difficult hike. We took 3 days and 2 nights in October. The trail head starts in Big Pine, California. You start with the Big Pine Creek Trail which will lead to the Palisade Glacier trail. We hiked the Big Pine Creek Trail until we made it to the 3rd lake. The 3rd lake is where we set up camp. The next morning we hiked through the Sam Mack Meadow to the Palisade Glacier Trail. The trail to the glacier was difficult and dangerous. It was mostly rock forcing us to do a lot of scrambling. We made it to the glacier and then headed back to our camp for the second night. The third night we hiked out. This was a beautiful hike. We entered many different biomes. Most of the hike we followed a small river. There was water sources throughout the hike.
