HJRFC Club History

Hillhead-Jordanhill Rugby Football Club, also known as Hills, was founded in 1988 and are based at Hughenden.

The club was formed by the merger of Jordanhill RFC (the rugby club of Jordanhill College) and Hillhead RFC (the rugby club of Hillhead High School Former Pupils).

The Women's Team, the "HillJills" were founded in 1995 and quickly became one of the top sides in the country, winning the Scottish Premier League for the first time in 2010/11 and again in 2013/14. The team achieved the League and Cup double in 2012/2013,

Several players from the club have gained international caps for Scotland Women 15s and 7s such as ex Scotland captain Susie Brown and current present most-capped player Heather Lockhart. There are currently Hillhead players involved in the SW international set-up as well as at Scotland Under 20 level. In addition, three Hillhead players (Jade Konkel, Lana Skeldon and Louise McMillan), along with 13 other female players in the country, are in the BT Sport SRU Academy which is a new initiative to develop top players.

2009-2010 Won the Scottish Premiership Division Three championship.
