Dorhauer brothers. Anthony Jon (L) & Russell Albert James (R)

Brothers: Anthony Jon & Russell Albert James Dorhauer visiting the cottage at Hill End in 2007, built by their great uncle, Johann (John) Krohmann in 1855. The cottage is maintained by the NSW National Parkes & Wildlife Service & is Heritage listed.

A descendant of Michael Ackermann, Elizabeth Ackerman married Johann after the death of his first wife Eva Heinz in Germany. On her return to Australia she lived in the cottage for two years before going to Sydney.  A further Ackermann descendant lives in the cottage as a caretaker. It is furnished in the original 1860's style and has no modern conveniences.
