Grade Responses
Grade responses will be housed online. For instructor-graded assignments, comments will be made using GradeMark™ in turnitin.com® and a rubric. Grades for these assignments will be posted in elearning™; however, the comments are on the papers in turnitin.com®.
Grade Questions
At any point, if you have questions about what a grade response means or how that response translates into the numerical grade you earned, then you are more than welcome to
ask for additional assignment reaction/comments
ask questions about existing comments
The best way to discuss your grade is to make an appointment with me. Please do not send grade questions to either my personal email or the discussions boards as they are not private and it is illegal to discuss grades in this forum. Please remember that I am here to help and want you to understand your grades. The expectations in this course are high but realistic.
Grade Guidelines for Technical Writing
The following table describes, in general terms, what the five letter grades (A-F) represent in this course. Your grade on each assignment is meant to reflect my assessment of your mastery of the objectives of this course.
Final Comments about Grades
When I calculate the final grades, I will round up only for those grades that are a _9.5 or above, and I do not curve grades. All other grades remain as calculated (therefore, an 89.5 is an "A," but an 89.4 is a "B").
I encourage you to understand your grades and seek to build your skills from assignment to assignment. Please do not hesitate to talk with me when/if necessary for your own improvement.
