As of 2008 I decided to begin obtaining the various modules that are part of the Doepfer (www.doepfer.com) A-100 series so that I can make my own Doepfer modular synthesizer. I know that German products are well made so that is one of the reasons that I've decided to go with the Doepfer modules. I've looked at modules from other manufacturers but the Doepfer's appeal to me because of their small size with the concept of putting a lot into a small package, and they are more visually appealing to me as well. I remember when this company started out in the late 1990's just when analog synthesizers were beginning to come back in style for keyboardists. Since they are a German company the website text is in German & English so just make sure that you click on the English website links if you decide to visit Doepfer's website. I've decided to use either the FRAC-RACK style of aluminum case for the modules from Paia Corporation (www.paia.com) since theirs is the least expensive cases or to build my own custom-made wooden case.
