This event was the Electro-Music 2009, http://electro-music.com/event2009/, electronic music festival which was held at the Salvation Army's Star Lake Camp in Bloomingdale New Jersey from October 29th to 31st 2009. This was supposed to be my first solo performance ever but at the last minute I decided to add another instrument "to the mix".
I was originally scheduled to perform on 10/31/2009 from 1:15pm to 1:45pm but as luck would have it I was also able to perform at the last minute on 10/30/2009 from 3:00pm to 3:30pm.
I arrived with my equipment in the van ready to go at a moments notice in case there were any performing artists who were not able to play for whatever reason. I asked the event's coordinators to let me know if there were any cancellations that I could slide into. A performer by the name of AlphaCore was supposed to perform from 3:00pm to 3:30pm but the festival's coordinators hadn't heard from him for about 4 months, so they told me that if he didn't show up by 2:15pm that I could take his 3:00pm slot.
Well, he was a no-show so I was given the green light & the rest is history.
I was watching the performance of the husband & wife duo "1UNDREAD" (Brian & Nicola Swan) from Bermuda. Since Brian plays the electric bass cello, I decided to ask him to join me during my performance as I decided several weeks earlier that I would do a slow & spacey-type of song that I created called Mayday Mayday Mayday.
The performance was a big success & was broadcast live over the Internet as far away as Europe.
Since I was scheduled to perform on October 31st, I asked Brian to join me during that performance as well. I did some spoken vocals during this performance but they did not come out loud enough on the audio tape due to the placement of the stage monitors, so the vocal sounds very distant on the recording.
I recorded my Oct 30th & Oct 31st performances on cassette audio tape & hope to retrieve the archived Internet versions.
