2322 and 2324 Lombard Street
Past: 1964; Present: 2010
At first glance, the two look almost exactly the same, but over 46 years, the houses have changed.
The right-hand house added a triangular roof to its porch and the left-hand house lost its tree and bush. The two houses were also most likely repainted and a tree was added to the sidewalk in front of them. The right-hand house's first-floor window was made larger and split into two, as well.

Past: 1953; Present: 2010
This street has changed significantly in 57 years. In the past picture, this place is still a trade port, with an area for automobile parking and large factory buildings. Now, to the left, there is Schuylkill River Park, with the tennis courts on the far end. To the right, there is a set of new row-houses and some older houses further down.

This street has undergone many changes. In 1953, it was still part of the Coal and Ice trade area. Later, it became more residential, most likely sometime in the 1870s because it was at this time that the riverfront became more residential as it is now. Although there is a new set of row-houses in the area on the left of the picture, the wall on the right has remained the same.

Beginning as a coal and ice trading port, the Schuylkill Riverfront has changed greatly. It later changed to be coal and wood, possibly because wood became more popular or because the ice industry declined. Finally, it is presently a large park. With a large field, a playground, a small child playground, a dog park, and a garden, the park is now a favorite for many children and parents from everywhere.
Another picture of what is now the Schuylkill River Park. There is a rail line and numerous large factory-like buildings.
Irish Bar on Twenty-Fifth and Pine Streets
Past: 1949; Present: 2010
This Irish bar is currently long-closed, but it has hardly changed from 1949. In 2009, it was undergoing some restoration, but this has ended for some time. The door, windows, and roof seem to have changed from 1949, but they have been the same for at least 15 years.

Past: 1964; Present: 2010
South Street has always been a street with many stores and businesses. On the corner of Twenty-Third and South Streets, there has always been a supermarket, which is now South Square Supermarket.

The eastern corner of Twenty-Third and South was once a drug store and a much larger building. Around 1998, it was an Eckerd drug store and has now become a Dollar General.

This stone fountain-like structure has been in the middle of South Street for a very long time. Now, there is a small traffic island set around it with trees and plants. Although the small garden has not been taken care of much, it is evident that there were efforts made to preserve the structure.

This corner building was once a prescription apothecary and is now a residence. The building itself has hardly changed, except for the placement of the door. Also, the placement of the traffic light has changed. An interesting detail that can be observed is that the postal box has stayed in the same position for all 46 years.

Past: 1964; Present: 2010
This building is currently a bar called "Doobies," which has been on the corner for a very long time. Looking at the past picture, it seems as though the corner has not changed from being some sort of store, possibly a bar. Although at a glance, the two buildings look the same, as their general structure has not changed, "Doobies" recently renovated its building, getting rid of the roof-like canopy and the stone-texture outer wall.
