Seed Saving for the Seed Library

Didcot Library Seed Library relies on seed donations from the community to keep going. Collecting your own seed from plants you're already growing is the cheapest way of starting new plants, improves biodiversity by creating varieties different from those sold by the seed company, and gives you seed which is well adapted to growing in the Didcot soil and climate.  Any seed you collect can then be used in your own garden next year, gifted to friends, and donated to the library to share with the community!

Why not give seed saving a go with a few easy varieties. Below is some information to get you started with seed saving.

Didcot Seed Saving Packets

DIY your own packets for seed you have collected. Just print and cut out the packet, fold along the dotted line, and glue together. Don't forget to include the name of the seeds, the date collected, and any other useful information you want to pass on.
