DELANO LEWIS
1006 Freeman Avenue, graduate of Sumner High School, University of Kansas and Washburn Law School. He served in the Justice Department during the administration of President Kennedy. He served in the Peace Corps from 1966 to 1969, served as Legislative Assistant to Senator Edward Brooke of Massachusetts. He served as President and Chief Executive officer of C&P Telephone Co. in Washington D.C., President and CEO OF National Public Radio. Served as President of the Greater Washington D.C. Board of Trade. He retired in 1998 but was called out of retirement and appointed Ambassador to South Africa and served in that capacity until January 2001.
